Picture Summer: 30 Days of Splashy Seasonal Celebration

Taught by Tracey Clark, founder of Shutter Sisters

Picture Summer is a 30-day photography project intended to encourage and inspire you to celebrate the season of sun and fun by playfully engaging your creative spirit.

There's no single season more conducive to having your camera at the ready; this makes it not only simple to maintain a photo-a-day project but it makes it that much more fun. Shooting images that go above and beyond the summer shots from years past, you'll start using your camera as a tool for seeing, appreciating and celebrating your vibrant life. The outcome will be a sweet slice of your life in an image a day. Nothing else is required. No end result to work toward: just your own unique vision personified in a picture. For these 30 days, that alone is enough.

As you are greeted each morning with a new photo prompt in your inbox, you will discover new ways of seeing things as you point your lens toward your daily life and the world around you. Summer is a time where most daily routines are turned on their ear and the combination of long sunny days, warm weather and a lack of schedule can be a blessing (offering a well-needed reprieve from the rest of the year) and a challenge (chaos, kids, travel). Taking a few minutes to put it all in perspective will help make your comings and goings that much more enjoyable. The imaginative guidance of this e-class will be a perfect way to start each day.

In her book Simple Abundance, Sarah Ban Breathnach says:

"Summer is not so much a season as it is a melody, that tune of contentment we hum as the days begin to beautifully blur. The pursuit of happiness becomes our personal priority…"

It is my hope that by participating in the Picture Summer  30 day project, that you will not only be pursuing happiness, you will be living it, one day, one picture at a time.
