ABOUT TAMMY

Tammy Tutterow is a lifelong artist and crafter, a wife and mother of three. She grew up in a home full of arts and crafts supplies with very creative parents. She loves all types of crafts but finds her true crafting passion in papercrafts, ribbonwork, and sewing. She loves to combine elements of all three into her projects.

Tammy has been an instructor and project designer in the papercraft/scrapbook industry since 2005. She has worked for many top manufacturers including: Sizzix, Tim Holtz, Ranger Ink, BasicGrey, Pink Paislee, and Xyron. Tammy’s projects have been published in several books, magazines, and product catalogs and have been featured on television. Tammy loves to teach technique based classes at stores, conventions, and online.

Who are you?

Just me. Just a girl still. Just a person trying to find her way each day, hoping, dreaming, and escaping a little through art.

What do you believe with all of your heart?

That being able to make something from bits of paper, stamps, and pads of ink completes me.

When did you know that this was your path?

For the longest time I wanted my future to be in words and illustration. The dream got lost along the way and I took on a career that paid the bills. Creative time balanced out the chaos the job brought to my life. I never lost sight of the dream though that I could be an artist or author. I think that is why I turned to blogging because it filled the need to share and write about something I loved. Happily, that innocent exercise led me to a career as a full time designer, artist, and teacher. I am thankful every day for that.

Where is your favorite place on earth?

My little yellow bungalow.

Why do you love your life?

Because I am blessed. I have a good life. I have a loving husband and three beautiful children. We are healthy. We aren’t rich, but we have enough. We have a comfortable and easy life.

How do you do everything you do?

Lists. To-do list with checklists keep me sane. I thrive on routine and organization.
