WILNA ANSWERS THE FIVE W's
Who are you?
I am Wilna, a deeply emotional and complex being but simple and transparent all at the same time. I find happiness in the little things and am deeply thankful for the life I have been given. It’s not even close to perfect but it’s mine. I am a creative being to my bones and I can express myself the best through art and design.
What do you believe with all of your heart?
I am here by Grace. The slightest change in perception is a miracle. I believe in small steps and small beginnings.
When did you know that this was your path?
I was in Grade 11 when a teacher told me to take art. My response was that I am not artistic. She told me she would teach me. She saw something in me that no one else saw. From that day onwards, I knew it was my path. I discovered scrapbooking in 2003 and still love it passionately to this day.
Where is your favorite place on earth?
The Sabi Sand Game reserve in South Africa. I get emotional just writing these words.
Why do you love your life?
I love my life because it’s well lived. I have the tear marks, the heart scars. I have the laugh lines. I love deeply. I am thankful for every one of these things.
How do you do everything you do?
I wake up between 2:00 and 3:00 in the morning and work. Just kidding. I honestly have no idea. I do know there are weeks that there’s no cooking, cleaning, or laundry happening in my house.
