I LOVE Christmas!
I love that for me, and others with a Christian faith, Christmas holds great religious meaning.
I love that the anticipation, preparations and celebrations fall smack dab in the middle of what might otherwise be an unbearably long, cold, and dark winter—at least in the Northern hemisphere.
I love the details of Christmas—the traditions, the decorations, the music, and (of course) the dipped-in-chocolate-and-then-rolled-in-crushed-candy-cane goodies that are left on my porch.

Chances are you’ve got some pretty big goals for getting into shape and staying there. Now I love a good Before and After photo as much as anyone else—you know the ones that show how someone lost practically an entire person.

If you're living in the United States, then this week will likely be filled with all kinds of delicious food preparations, travel, and ultimately the gathering of friends and family to feast and to celebrate all that we are blessed with and grateful for. My extended family has been enjoying a wonderful exchange of grateful thoughts as we anticipate this weekend together. It began, almost on a whim, after my Mom posted this image on Instagram.

Besides being the name of an upcoming workshop, a December Duo is a fun & unique way to record your holiday memories!
The idea is to start on December 12 and then capture a different "duo" every day until Christmas. Your duos might include "Before / After," "Give / Receive," "Warm / Cold," you get the picture.

Sketches are a great jumping off point and really help take the guess work out of your design. But, have you ever tried a sketch for card making? The same principles apply, card sketches are just like mini layouts except maybe a little smaller

Just like fashion, there are no rules to scrapbooking! Sure, there are design principles and ever-changing trends, but the scrapbook police are not about to hunt you down. The next time you feel you are in a rut or at a loss for inspiration, think back on all the times that this hobby made you feel alive and electric.

I am a huge fan of mini-books. I’ve made literally hundreds! So imagine my delight when Amy Tan’s project is a mini-book based on things that inspire! From favorite products and food to music and what we read it’s the perfect little “me right now” album. And “little” is right, because it holds the cutest ever 2x2 photos!

Don't you love seeing sneak peeks of art projects before they're finished? It kind of feels like walking through a newly framed house, seeing a celebrity without makeup on, watching What Not to Wear, looking at a baby and imagining what she'll look like when she grows up. You just see so much raw possibility. There's a fun final reveal awaiting you sometime soon, but for the moment, you can imagine all sorts of outcomes.
